STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern baseball will return to action this weekend after the midweek tilt against No. 12 Georgia Tech was postponed due to severe weather heading into the area. The Eagles will now hit the road for the first weekend series of the season, opening up conference play with Troy.
The Trojans will enter play on Friday with a 8-8 record, while the Eagles head to Alabama with a 9-6 record, fresh off a sweep of Towson and UAB in back-to-back weeks. Mason McWhorter had a big weekend for the Eagles and looks to continue to stay hot, after collecting the fourth cycle in Georgia Southern history, going 5-for-5 with two home runs added on.Â
