Sun Belt Announces Men’s Basketball Championship Bracket

The Eagles are scheduled to open play against Arkansas State Friday.
NEW ORLEANS – Georgia Southern will open the Sun Belt Conference Men's Basketball Championship by taking on Arkansas State Friday, March 5, at 6 p.m. ET in Hartsell Arena on the campus of Pensacola State College as the league released its tournament bracket today.
The Eagles are the fifth seed in the East Division, and the Red Wolves are the fourth seed in the West Division. The winner of the game will meet East Division winner Georgia State Saturday at 6:30 p.m. ET in the quarterfinals at the Pensacola Bay Center.
It will be the first meeting between Georgia Southern and Arkansas State this season. The Eagles own an 12-5 all-time record against the Red Wolves, who won 76-75 in Hanner in the lone meeting between the two teams last season. Eagle forward Isiah Crawley was whistled for a reaching foul on Christian Willis, who drilled a pair of free throws with 1.8 seconds left to give Arkansas State the victory. It will be their first meeting in the Sun Belt Tournament.
All Eagle games at the championship will air on the GS Sports Network, and all games will be broadcast on ESPN+ except for Monday's championship contest, which will air on ESPN2.
IMPORTANT TICKET INFO FOR GAMES BEING PLAYED AT PENSACOLA STATE COLLEGE: Due to COVID-19 restrictions that will be in place for the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Championships, entry to all games located at Pensacola State College (PSC) will only be available through each institution's team pass list for their respective game. Individuals who wish to attend a game at PSC should contact the respective institution's ticket office to purchase tickets and be placed on the institution's team pass list. Individuals who have already purchased tickets for PSC through Ticketmaster will be honored on a first come, first serve basis until capacity has been reached for each game.
