
Track & Field Concludes First Day of SBC Indoor Championships

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Georgia Southern track & field finished the first day of the Sun Belt Indoor Championships on Monday evening in Birmingham.
The Eagles had a lot to be excited about in day one of competition as Aris Hubbard qualified for the 60 meter dash finals posting a lifetime best of 7.63. Zykeria Williams qualified for the 60 meter hurdles, after posting a time of 8.59 in her prelim race.
Hubbard continued her success on the track, qualifying for the finals of the 200 meter dash. In the 400 meter dash, Scovia Ayikoru qualified for the finals, posting a time of 55.68. Siddeeqa Abdurrahman scored the Eagles first points of the championship, placing eighth in the Women's Weight Throw.
The GS Distance Medley Relay team of Abbey Arnett, Lauren Euler, Isabel Ptacek and Hannah Wise picked up a fifth place finish, posting the second fastest time in school history of 12:19.36.
Georgia Southern and the Indoor Championships will continue tomorrow afternoon, as the Eagles look to stay hot.
