SERIES PREVIEW - Eagles to Open 2021 Season with No. 19 Tennessee

STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern baseball opens up the 2021 season this weekend inside the friendly confines of J.I. Clements Stadium. The Eagles will host No. 19 Tennessee for a three-game set beginning on Friday at 6:30 p.m. The Vols were 15-2 in 2020, winning 13 straight games before falling to Wright State twice in a weekend series. Opening day is sponsored by Citizens Bank of the South.

Tennessee defeated No. 1 Texas Tech last season and No. 25 Stanford in the Round Rock Classic hosted at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas. The Vols and Eagles were originally scheduled for a midweek matchup in April last season, before the COVID-19 Pandemic shut down the college baseball season.
