ATHENS, Ga. - Georgia Southern women's tennis fell to No. 5 Georgia on Wednesday afternoon in Athens, Georgia 6-1. The Eagles fall to 1-4 on the season while Georgia improves to 3-1.Â
In doubles play, the Bulldogs took the point winning 6-0 on both courts two and three. Court one was unfinished to make time for the men's match which was following, with the score tied at 3-3.
During singles play the Eagles held their own batting in first sets throughout the lineup. Paula Hijos picked up the lone point for the Blue and White on Wednesday, defeating Ariana Areseneault 6-2, 6-4.
The Eagles will be back in action this weekend hosting three matches at the Wallis Tennis Center. On Saturday the Eagles will host Florida A&M at 11 a.m., before hosting a double-header against ABAC on Sunday starting at 10 a.m.
