Softball Inks Two For Fall 2022

Head Coach Sharon Perkins ads Brooke Kell and Janiyah Strong in the early signing period

STATESBORO - Georgia Southern Head Softball Coach Sharon Perkins announced a pair of signings during the early period as both Brooke Kell and Janiyah Strong will be joining the Eagles for the Fall of 2022.

Four-year standout at Kell HS ... Hit .547 as a senior with 16 RBi and 23 runs scored for the Longhorns ... Team MVP and first-team All-Region selection in 2021 ... Named team's Defensive Player of the Year in 2020 and team's Offensive Player of the Year in 2019 ... Also earned All-Region honors as a freshman and a sophomore ... Played club for AP Elite Copper '03.

Coach Perkins: "Brooke is a true utility that will add depth to our outfield.  She has tremendous range defensively and will add much needed speed to our lineup.  She's a smart baserunner and has great barrel control as a slapper."

Four-year standout at Heard County HS ... Hit .442 as a senior with 13 home runs and 48 RBI for the Braves ... Helped lead Heard County to back-to-back State titles ... Is the all-time leader in both home runs (38) and RBI (177) for Heard County softball ... Career. 421 hitter who also scored 173 runs in her career ... GACA AA All-State Player of the Year and GADC AA Player of the Year ... Played club for AP Elite Martin.

Coach Perkins: "Janiyah brings great athleticism as well as a strong bat.  She has power to all fields offensively and can play multiple positions, but is solid on the corners. She is a great athlete with a ton of potential."
