STATESBORO - Georgia Southern Head Softball Coach Kim Dean announced the 2021 non-conference schedule today. The Eagles will participate in three tournaments prior to Sun Belt play, hosting two of them at Eagle Field.
The 2021 schedule begins on February 12-14 with the Bash in the Boro tournament in Statesboro. Georgia Southern welcomes in Western Kentucky and UNCW for three days of action at Eagle Field, beginning Friday evening at 5 p.m. with the Eagles taking on the Hilltoppers. Georgia Southern will then travel to No. 7-ranked Florida for the Bubly Invitational on February 19-21 in Gainesville. The Eagles will face the Gators three times during the weekend, opening up against the host squad on Friday at 6 p.m. Georgia Southern will also take on Charlotte on Saturday and Sunday.
The Eagles will then travel to Jacksonville, Fla., for a three-game set against North Florida on February 26-27. The two teams will play a single game on Friday at 4 p.m., then compete in a Noon doubleheader on Saturday.
The final tournament of the non-conference slate for the Eagles will be the Eagle Round Robin on March 5-7 in Statesboro. Winthrop and the College of Charleston will be participating along with the Eagles, and action begins with a 5 p.m. matchup on Friday between Winthrop and Georgia Southern. Three midweek dates round out the 2021 non-conference slate for Coach Dean and the Eagles. Georgia Southern will visit in-state rival Mercer on Wednesday, March 17, for a 4 p.m. doubleheader in Macon. The Eagles will then visit No. 14 Georgia in a 6 p.m. single game on Wednesday, March 24. The final non-conference contest will be on Wednesday, April 21, at Eagle Field when Georgia Southern hosts Jacksonville at 5 p.m.

Admission to Georgia Southern softball in 2021 is free. Georgia Southern Softball will be following institution and Sun Belt Conference COVID-19 protocols for the 2021 season. These include the following for attendees:
• All spectators are required to wear a face covering in Eagle Field.Â
• Attendance will be capped at 150 (and is subject to change)
• Social distancing will be maintained throughout the facility to the fullest extent possible, including limiting field access in accordance with Sun Belt and NCAA recommendations.
