MOBILE, Ala. – Tyreke Locure tallied 19 points and eight rebounds, and South Alabama held Georgia Southern to 28 percent shooting to earn a season series split with a 62-48 Sun Belt men's basketball win over the Eagles Saturday afternoon in the Mitchell Center.

Eagles of the Game
Elijah McCadden led Georgia Southern with 16 points, eight rebounds and five assists, and Zack Bryant tallied 13 points, six boards, three assists and two blocked shots.

Key Moments
A 16-5 run, keyed by seven points by Locure, gave the home side a 19-8 lead midway through the first half. Georgia Southern (10-7, 4-4) went 1 for 6 from the floor with two turnovers during the stretch. The margin grew to as many as 16 points in the first half, and the Jags (9-8, 3-5) led 36-23 at the break.

Andrei Savrasov scored five straight for the Eagles to trim the lead to 12, and Georgia Southern was on the break and about to cut it further but missed a layup. The Jags came right back with consecutive triples by Sam Iorio and Kayo Goncalves, and Locure's free throw made the score 52-33 with 12:52 remaining. The Eagles held the Jags to 2 for 14 from the floor and cut the margin to 12 points late in the game, but that was as close as they would get.
