STATESBORO – Zack Bryant scored 12 points, including four in the extra period, as Georgia Southern fought off Troy for a 67-64 Sun Belt men's basketball win in overtime Friday evening in Hanner Fieldhouse.

Bryant helped the Eagles build a 66-62 cushion in the extra session, but Troy trimmed it to two points and had the ball with 19.8 seconds to go after an Eagle turnover. Kam Woods, who finished with a game-high 23 points, drove to the hoop and tried to get Bryant to bite on a pump fake, but the senior stayed with him and blocked his shot with 8.2 seconds remaining.

Elijah McCadden secured the rebound for Georgia Southern (8-6, 2-3) and was fouled. The junior made 1 of 2 from the free-throw line with 7.8 seconds left and then bothered Khalyl Waters' 3-point try from the top of the key as the buzzer sounded to preserve the win.

Eagles of the Game
Bryant tallied four rebounds, a team-high three assists and two steals. Kamari Brown made three 3-pointers and finished the game with 12 points, while Eric Boone and Kaden Archie each scored nine

Key Moments
The Eagles suffered through a scoring drought that lasted 10:49 in the first half as they missed 12 straight shots from the field. They hung in there with their defense and capped the frame with a 17-4 run to take a 32-27 lead at the break. GS capped the stretch with four consecutive 3-pointers, and Brown nailed the last two, including one from the corner as the halftime horn sounded.

Troy (6-6, 1-2) trailed by as many as 11 in the second half but forced six Eagle turnovers in the final three minutes of regulation. The Trojans trailed 59-55 following a Prince Toyambi free throw with 41.7 seconds left in regulation, but Woods made a driving layup, Georgia Southern turned it over and Waters netted a putback with 22.8 seconds left to tie the score 59-59.

Stats and Notes
- Georgia Southern held Troy to 35 percent shooting in the game, including 29 percent in the second half and overtime combined.
- Thirteen of the Eagles' 17 turnovers in the game came after halftime.
- It was the second overtime win of the season for the Eagles, who have won their last four games that required an extra period.
