
Men’s Basketball Signs Andrei Savrasov

The redshirt sophomore transfers in from Texas Tech.
STATESBORO – Georgia Southern men's basketball coach Brian Burg announced today that Andrei Savrasov (Saint Petersburg, Russia/Texas Tech) has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Eagles, beginning in the 2020-21 season.

Before Georgia Southern: Spent the last two seasons at Texas Tech and redshirted the 2018-19 campaign • Played in 21 games in 2019-20 and averaged 1.1 points and 1.0 rebounds per game • Scored a career-high with six points in a non-conference game against Creighton and then in Big 12 play against TCU where he hit two 3-pointers in each • Finished the season shooting 6-for-18 on 3-pointers • Named to the Academic All-Big 12 Team • Played with BC Zenith Saint Petersburg before moving to Lubbock to start his collegiate career • Also played in the U18 European Championship as a 17-year-old for Russia and averaged 8.0 points and 5.6 rebounds in seven games • Had a tournament-high 18 points against Slovakia after hitting three 3-pointers and also had 10 points and four assists in the round of 16 against Italy.
