Box Score STATESBORO, Ga. - Christian Avant sent the Eagles home happy on Saturday afternoon, with a single to left center field, scoring Mason McWhorter from second base. Hayden Harris improved to 2-1 on the season, entering the ballgame in the eighth and pitching one and 1/3 innings.
The Eagles improved to 8-5 on the season, while the Crusaders fell to 1-12. GS was no-hit through the fifth, before Parker Biederer singled up the middle to break it up. Braden Hays was pegged with a no decision after a career-high seven innings of work, allowing six hits and striking out four.
In the bottom of the ninth Mason McWhorter walked to give the Eagles a one-out baserunner. With two outs in the inning, Austin Thompson was intentionally walked and Christian Avant singled to left center to end the game.Â
