The Eagles begin a stretch of four events in four weeks at the UNF Collegiate March 9-10 at Jacksonville Golf and Country Club. It's the seventh year of the tournament and the Eagles' second straight appearance in the event. GS tied for 10th of 17 teams in the tournament last season.
GS is coming off an eighth-place finish at the Amelia Island Collegiate Feb. 18 that saw the Eagles post a school team record 286 in the final round to move five places up the leaderboard.Â
Alberte Thuesen carded a 67 in the final round, which tied for the second-lowest round of the tournament, to post her fourth top-10 finish of the year by tying for ninth. Ella Ofstedahl tied for 19th and Madsion Heideman tied for 25th. Â
Ofstedahl has finished in the top-10 in four of her last seven collegiate events and now has seven top-5s, 10 career top-10s and 17 career top-20s.
Ofstedahl makes her 31st career start for the Eagles, and Savanah Satterfield is in the lineup for the ninth time in her brief career. Thuesen has played in every event of her rookie campaign, and Heideman makes the third start of her Georgia Southern career. Julianna Collett makes her 16th career start in the lineup.
Georgia Southern will be paired with Troy and Daytona State for Monday's first two rounds and tee off holes 7-9 in a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
Following the tournament, GS is back in action at the Valspar Augusta Invitational at Forest Hills Country Club in Augusta March 14-15.
