Southern pounds out 14 hits in big 10-2 victory
STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern softball team opened up the 2020 season with a 10-2 run-rule victory over Hartford Friday night at Eagle Field on the first day of the Bash at the Boro Tournament. Due to weather on Thursday delaying Friday morning's action, the Eagles' second schedule game of the day was canceled due to time constraints.
A pair of big innings sparked the way as the Eagles put up five runs in the first inning, three more in the fifth and two more in the sixth to end the game early to the mercy rule.
