Eagles Late Rally Falls Short against Little Rock

FOLEY, Ala. – Georgia Southern women's soccer had the 2020 season come to a close on Monday afternoon in Foley, Alabama. The Eagles were eliminated from the Sun Belt Conference tournament, falling 2-1 to the Little Rock Trojans. The Trojans improved to 4-5-2 on the year, while the Eagles finish the season 3-10-1.

Early in the first half, Little Rock took advantage of their first set piece, finding the foot of Mariella Stephens in a scramble in front of net. Minutes later Stephens added to the Little Rock lead, taking a shot from the edge of the area to double the Trojans lead.

In the 34th minute, the Eagles were able to find some life, as Maddie Klintworth put a ball into the box. The Trojans keeper deflected the ball and Taylor Regensburger had it bounce off her leg and into the back of the net to cut the Little Rock lead in half.
