In the first half the Eagles felt the Hatters pressure, shutting down multiple scoring chances in the first 20 minutes of play. Sallie Newton made three saves in the first half, blanking Stetson through the first 45 minutes of play.

Maddie Klintworth broke the scoreless match, scoring off of a corner kick by Diana Hilhorst in the 31st minute. In the 37th minute, Vala Kristin Theodorsdottir added to the scoresheet, scoring from about 25 yards out to put the Eagles up 2-0.
