The Eagles are currently scheduled to play 13 games in Hanner Fieldhouse this season.
STATESBORO – Four contests in Hanner Fieldhouse and road games at Davidson, Florida International and Florida Gulf Coast highlight the Georgia Southern men's basketball non-conference schedule, announced today by head coach Brian Burg.
"Our goal in putting together our non-conference schedule is to prepare our team for Sun Belt play and to provide Eagle Nation with multiple opportunities to see us in Hanner Fieldhouse," said Burg. "Despite the challenges with scheduling brought about by COVID this season, I think we accomplished both of those goals."
The Eagles will open the season by playing host to Florida National Wednesday, Nov. 25, at 1 p.m. in Hanner Fieldhouse in the first meeting between the schools, and Georgia Southern will welcome Coastal Georgia to Hanner Saturday, Nov. 28, in a 4 p.m. tipoff.
The Eagles travel to former Southern Conference rival and current Atlantic 10 competitor Davidson Dec. 11, before hosting longtime rival Mercer in Hanner Fieldhouse Dec. 13. GS plays host to Carver Dec. 15, and caps the non-conference slate by traveling to Florida for three games. The Eagles will play at Florida International in a multi-team event Dec. 19-20, and cross the state to take on Florida Gulf Coast Dec. 22. GS opens its Sun Belt slate New Year's Day against South Alabama.
The Georgia Southern Athletics Ticket Office has announced its procedure for purchasing tickets for the upcoming 2020-21 season.
To align with guidance put in place by Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, and following NCAA, Sun Belt Conference, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Georgia Department of Public Health and University System of Georgia social distancing standards due to concerns around the COVID-19 pandemic, Georgia Southern will begin the season with a limited capacity in Hanner Fieldhouse. Single-game tickets for non-conference games will then open up for the general public starting on Nov. 23. Tickets for Sun Belt games Conference will go on sale starting the Monday of each home weekend series for season ticket holders based on priority points.
