Eagles Blanked by South Alabama on Friday

MOBILE, Ala. – On Friday evening, Georgia Southern women's soccer traveled to Mobile, Alabama to take on the defending Sun Belt Conference champions, South Alabama Jaguars for the first time in 2020. The Jaguars scored two second half goals to defeat the Eagles in the first of two meetings between programs this season.

South Alabama improves to 4-1-0 on the season and 4-0-0 in conference play, while the Eagles fall to 0-5-0 and 0-3-0 in conference play.

GS and South Alabama were scoreless at half, as Sara Story made two saves to keep the Jaguars off the board. In the second half, the Jaguars continued to pepper the Eagles keeper, breaking the scoreless match in the 58th minute. In the 70th minute Kailey Littleford added some insurance for the Jaguars to make it 2-0.

Marcela Montoya had the only shot on goal for the Eagles late in the match, which was saved by Anita Gudmundsdottir.
