Georgia Southern travels to Stetson Saturday
ORLANDO, Florida – The Georgia Southern women's tennis team had a tough outing Friday against No. 18 Texas A&M at the USTA National Tennis Complex in a 7-0 loss.
The Eagles (1-1) were unable to secure a win in doubles or singles against the Aggies (6-1) but saw a close contest from the number one slot in singles play. Paula Boixader narrowly lost to Katya Townsend 6-7, 4-6.
What head coach Sean McCaffrey said:
"We put up a great fight against a very strong team today. The result does not show the level of effort the ladies put into the match. We had chances in a few places but came up short. I am happy with some of the progress we showed and am overall optimistic with the direction we are going."
