Lauren Karinshak had six saves during the game. Gardner-Webb finished the 2018 season with 12-5-4 with a 7-1-2 Big South Conference record. Stina Kleppe was voted by the conference's coaches as Attacking Player of the Year for 2018. The team also made a 2018 Big South championship appearance. Big South coaches voted Gardner-Webb second in the preseason poll. So far this season, the Runnin' Bulldogs are 0-2. Georgia Southern and Gardner-Webb have played each other four times with the Eagles leading the series 3-1. Last year the Runnin' Bulldogs won 3-0.Â

Quickly:Â The Eagles will come back to Statesboro to play Presbyterian on Eagle Field Sunday. This will be the first meeting of Georgia Southern and Presbyterian. The Blue Hose opens their 2019 season Friday night against North Florida. In 2018, Presbyterian went 8-8 overall and 3-7 in the Big South Conference.

Sunday's game against Presbyterian will be Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day. One free general admission ticket will be given to any Georgia Southern employee with a valid Staff ID.
