Senior Wins Big Against Texas State

Eagles defeat Texas State, 4-1
STATESBORO, Ga - Stakes are high moving into the leading weeks before conference championship tournaments but you wouldn't know that at Wallis Tennis Center. The Women's Team has been making big strides towards a seed in the SunBelt and playing their best tennis in the past few matches. The Eagles took on Texas State at home on Sunday and won the match, 4-1.
The Blue and White gave up the doubles point early but made their way back to the lead in singles play. The Eagles won on courts 2, 4, 5, and 6 to take the match. Senior Emilia Bujan helped seal the deal in a big way for the Eagles, defeating Rishona Israel-Lewis, 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2 singles in a well fought battle. Freshman Luisa Hrda also helped take the win for the Eagles by winning at No. 6. This win was Hrda's tenth straight singles win for the season, nine of which were won in straight sets. The Eagles are back in action against rival Appalachian State on Friday, April 5th in Boone, North Carolina.
