STATESBORO, Ga - Georgia Southern Women's Tennis defeated Savannah State at home in Wallis Tennis Center on Wednesday. The Tigers were unable to keep any momentum against the Eagles and fell, 7-0. After this win over the Tigers, the Eagles move to 10-8 on the season.
The Eagles came out to the courts looking for their third straight win at home. The energy the Blue and White had going into the match is what earned them the doubles point early before moving on to singles. They kept the same energy and drive going into singles and swept the courts, winning every match in straight sets against the SSU Tigers. Many of the girls are on to their third straight win in singles after defeating SSU, Arkansas State and Coastal Carolina in Wallis Tennis Center last weekend. In defeating Casi Gilbert at No. 5, 6-0, 6-0,
Luisa Hrda earned her eight straight win in singles. Seven of Hrda's eight consecutive wins have been in straight sets, moving her to 12-2 on the 2019 season.
NEXT UP: The Blue and White are back in action on Saturday, March 30th taking on UT Arlington at home. The match is set for 10 AM.
