GS plays in the Idle Hour Collegiate for the third straight season as the Eagles cap the fall in Macon. Georgia Southern finished fifith of 13 teams at the event last season, and Ella Ofstedahl finished third.
The Eagles are coming off a third-place finish at the Jupiter Invitational Oct. 15. Alberte Thuesen took sixth to match her best career finish. Sarah Noonan tied for 15th, Ella Ofstedahl tied for 19th and Julianna Collett tied for 21st, giving the Eagles four players in the top-25.
Ofstedahl has finished in the top-10 in three of her last five collegiate events and now has nine career top-10s and 15 career top-20s. Thuesen took sixth in the first event of the season, giving her two top-10s, and Julianna Collett has been in the top-25 in her last four tournaments, dating back to last season. Sarah Noonan has two career top-10s and three top-20s.
Ofstedahl makes her 29th career start for the Eagles, and Noonan makes her 23rd career start. Satterfield is in the lineup for the seventh time in her brief career, and Collett makes her 16th career start and first this season.
The Eagles are paired with Southern Miss and Lamar and tee off holes 7-9 in a shotgun start at 8 a.m. tomorrow. The teams are slated to play 36 holes tomorrow and the final 18 Tuesday.
GS opens the spring season at the Amelia Island Collegiate Feb. 18-19 at Amelia Island Golf Club.
