STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern Men's Tennis Team released its 2020 schedule Monday afternoon and will begin the season Jan. 12 at Georgia Tech at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex.  
 
The Eagles will play 14 home contests at the Wallis Tennis Center including seven straight from Mar. 13-29.
 
Following the trip to Tech, the team will travel throughout the states of South Carolina and Florida, playing against the likes of Miami (Jan. 19) and Clemson (Jan. 26). The first home match is set for Jan. 29 against Mercer at 2:30 p.m. Sun Belt play begins Mar. 15 at home against Troy.    
 
The Eagles enter 2020 with some momentum after a solid effort in 2019. After being bested by the No. 20-ranked Florida State Seminoles to begin the season, the team strung together five straight victories spanning nearly a month, a feat that was repeated later in March. The team finished 15-11, 2-5 SBC marking a fourth straight winning season.  The season concluded in a close 3-4 loss in the first round of the Sun Belt Tournament to Coastal Carolina. Antonio Muniz was named Sun Belt Freshman of the Year and was also a member of the All-Sun Belt Second Team.

"This is the toughest schedule we've had since I have been at Georgia Southern. We have more ranked teams and top conference teams in front of us. This is a young team and the schedule will give us many great challenges and opportunities to grow and get better as a program. We have put in the work this fall on and off the court and I look forward to the spring."
