Quickly: Georgia Southern went 1-0-1 in its season-opening trip to Virginia last weekend, notching a 2-0 win over Virginia Commonwealth and a 2-2 draw with Old Dominion. Javier Carbonell scored twice in a 3 1/2 minute span to help the Eagles overcome a 2-0 deficit in the final 14 minutes of regulation against the Monarchs. Friday, the Eagles will open up its home slate by hosting North Florida (0-2). The two teams met last year in Jacksonville, with Georgia Southern taking a 2-1 win.
