Martinez Signs With St. Louis City 2 of MLS Next Pro

Martinez ends his collegiate career as the program's leader in clean sheets and save percentage.
STATESBORO --- Georgia Southern men's soccer graduate Nate Martinez signed a professional contract with St. Louis City 2 of the MLS Next Pro, as announced by the club on INSERT DATE.
A 2025 graduate, Martinez ended his career as one of the top goalkeepers in program history. A key part of the historic 2025 campaign, Martinez collected the most clean sheets on a season in team history with his eight. He also holds the program record for career shutouts (17) and career goals against average (1.35). In September, Martinez's clean sheet against College of Charleston and his performance in the win over #6 Marshall earned him not only the Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week, but also College Soccer News' National Goalkeeper of the Week. He also was a Second Team All-Sun Belt selection.
St. Louis City 2 is the MLS Next Pro team for the St. Louis City SC organization. Their 2026 season starts on February 28th and runs all the way to September 20th. In 2025 SLC 2 won the Western Conference table before falling in the conference semifinals of the playoffs to Minnestota United FC 2.
