Track and Field competes at the Georgia Tech Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga. – Over the weekend the Georgia Southern Track and Field team competed in the Georgia Tech Invitational, hosted by Georgia Tech. The Eagles had an impressive weekend racing against some of the top school on the East coast.

Sholonda Snell started the Eagles off on the right foot collecting a third place finish in the 800 meters event. Teammate Ellunde Montgomery finished top-15 in the same event and helped set the tone for the Eagles. Snell continued her dominance on the track with a top-20 finish in the 1500 meter event. Ellunde Montgomery also finished in the top-30 in the same event.

Detrich Lodge added some field events for the Eagles with a top-5 finish in the Long Jump. Eugenia Tan collected a top-20 finish in the Long Jump and added to the Eagles success. In the Shot Put event Alexis Gant posted a top-10 finish. Jamelia Owens completed the Eagles events over the weekend with a top-10 finish in the Discus Finals.
