Women's Tennis Cruises in Final Matches of Spring Break

Eagles defeat Chicago State and St. Norbert College 7-0 to improve to 7-3

STATESBORO, Ga. – On Thursday the Georgia Southern women's tennis team completed their weeklong trip to the Sunshine State where they competed in four matches. The Eagles concluded the trip with matches against Chicago State and St. Norbert College. The Blue and White finished the week with a 3-1 one record and didn't allow a point in the final day, winning 7-0 in both matches.

The Eagles started the day off hot sweeping Chicago State in doubles play. Emilia Bujan and partner Paige Christian defeated their opponents 6-1 to start the Eagles success. The Blue and White continued their success with Lindsay Truscott and Ella Monsey defeating their opponents 6-4. The Eagles would cap off the sweep with a victory on court two by Arianne de Winter and Paula Boixader.

In singles play the Eagles continued to dominate on the court sweeping Chicago State. Four Eagles would win in straight sets including Emilia Bujan, Lindsay Truscott, Ella Monsey, and Mila Hartig. Paula Boixader and Arianne de Winter both won their first sets before dropping the second sets in their match. They would rebound and win in three sets to clinch the sweep for the Eagles. The ladies will be back in action next weekend as they take on Coastal Carolina and South Alabama to open up league play.
