The story
Bowman's round started on the 12th hole, and she made par on eight of her first nine holes. The junior recorded consecutive birdies on holes 3 and 4 and added two more on 9 and 10. She capped the round by playing her last five holes 2-under.
Ofstedahl began the day on hole 11 and started the round with five straight pars before adding a birdie on 16 to move to 1-under. The sophomore ran off three straight pars as she made the turn and then eagled the par-5 4th hole.
Petersen started on 14 and really got going on her third hole of the round. A par at 16 started a string of 16 consecutive holes with par or better, and she made birdie on the par-5 17th. The freshman parred every hole on the front nine to shoot an even 36.
Quotables from head coach Emily Kuhfeld
"It's not really the start we wanted today, but there are many positives to take away!"
"Ansley started us out strong with a 2-under-par round where she showed great attitude and grit."
"We are looking forward to tomorrow and being able to capitalize on our powerful ball striking abilities! It is a testament to these five and how far we have come so far already that we aren't pleased with a 301."

The Eagles are paired with Fairleigh Dickinson, Stephen F. Austin and SCAD and tee off holes 1-3 on Osprey Point. The shotgun start is set for 8:45 a.m.
