
Tookie Brown Named College Sports Madness Player of the Week

The Eagles won the Islands of the Bahamas Showcase.
STATESBORO – College Sports Madness has named Tookie Brown its National Mid-Major Men's Basketball Player of the Week and its Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week, the publication announced today.
Brown tallied 22 points, six rebounds and four assists in the championship game of the Islands of the Bahamas Showcase. He led Georgia Southern to an 80-77 win over Montana and was named the tournament MVP.
Brown averaged 20 points, 4.8 assists, 4.3 rebounds and a steal a game while shooting 55 percent from the floor and 76 percent from the free-throw line in four games last week. He is 62 points away from becoming the all-time leading scorer in Georgia Southern's Division I era.
The Eagles, who have started the campaign 5-0 for the second straight season, have eight days off before playing host to ETSU Nov. 27 in Hanner Fieldhouse. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m., and the game will air live on ESPN+.
