STATESBORO – Meaghan Jones posted a match-high 11 kills and added three blocks while hitting .391 to lead South Alabama to a 3-0 Sun Belt volleyball win over Georgia Southern Saturday night in Hanner Fieldhouse.

Lauren Reichard hit .538 with seven kills and had four blocks for Georgia Southern (7-14, 2-5). The senior is four blocks away from breaking the school career record, set by Jennifer Charles in 2006.

GS battled back from an early 10-4 deficit in the first set, and a Reichard kill brought the Eagles to within one point at 22-21. GS gave up a point with a service error and an Eagle hitting error gave the Jags (10-11, 4-4) a 24-21 lead. GS scored the next point on a Reichard kill, but Alexis Silver put a ball down to end the set for South Alabama.
