Get to Know Lindsay Truscott – Over the next week and a half we meet each of Eagles on the women's tennis team and learn a little bit more about each of the ladies. Next up is junior
Lindsay Truscott from Centurion, South Africa. Truscott played primarily in the No. 2 position for the Eagles last season and helped the Blue and White to their first Sun Belt Conference Tournament victory.
What do you enjoy most about playing tennis?
I love the competitive side of tennis and the fact that I get to practice and participate outside in the fresh air.
What age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at the age of 11.
When/why did you decide tennis was going to be your sport you concentrated on?
I decided tennis was going to be the sport that I focus on when I was 14. Like I listed earlier, tennis is a very competitive sport and there is always something that needs to be worked on or could be improved. I like this because it always provides you with a challenge that you need to work on and overcome and that makes you a stronger tennis player and individual.
What are you most looking forward to about the upcoming season?
Being able to compete as an Eagle with my team.
Who has had the greatest influence on your game?
My Coach, Tamara Day.
If you could meet anyone, past or present, who would it be?
Nelson Mandela.
What do most people not know about you?
I played three different types of instruments growing up.
