
Brown Named to Lou Henson Award Mid-Season Watch List

The Eagles are back in action at Appalachian State Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
BOSTON – Georgia Southern guard Tookie Brown has been named to the 2017-18 Lou Henson Award Mid-Season Watch List, it was announced today.
The award is presented annually to the nation's top Division I mid-major player and will be announced March 31, 2018, at the CollegeInsider.com Awards Event in San Antonio, site of the men's NCAA Basketball Championship.
A two-time first-team All-Sun Belt selection, Brown is averaging 18.2 points, 4.4 assists and 2.1 steals a contest and is 54 points away from becoming the 10th Eagle to score 1,500 points in the modern era. The 5-foot-11 junior ranks fifth in the Sun Belt in scoring, fifth in assists, second in field goal percentage (.559) and fifth in assist:turnover ratio (1.9). He also ranks 29th in the country and first in the SBC in steals per game and leads the Sun Belt in both free throws made and attempted.
Brown has scored 20-plus points in nine games this season and was named SBC Player of the Week Dec. 12 and to the Gulf Coast Showcase All-Tournament Team in November.
