STATESBORO, GA. - After taking three of four on the road over the last week, Georgia Southern Baseball is back home this weekend for three games against the Arkansas State Red Wolves in the final home regular season series of 2017. The Eagles own the Sun Belt's best overall record at 33-16, but sit third place in the league's East Division at 15-9. All three games can be seen live on GS All-Access at GSEagles.com. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. on Friday night.
Single game tickets are available at GSEagles.com/Tickets, giving fans the opportunity to beat the lines on gameday. Tickets can also be purchased at the J.I. Clements Stadium Box Office, located directly behind home plate at the stadium's main entrance.

- Georgia Southern plays its final home series this weekend as Arkansas State comes to town for a three-game set. The last time the Red Wolves came to Statesboro saw three extra innings games with the Eagles taking the series with two 11 inning wins in the March 21st doubleheader.
- Georgia Southern got a complete game, three hit shutout from sophomore
Brian Eichhorn. He picked up his second win of the season as a starter, striking out 12. The Eagles scored a run in the first, second and fourth before piling on with a pair of late long balls.
Logan Baldwin went yard for his second career bomb in the seventh while
Ryan Cleveland hit a solo job in the ninth that left the atmosphere.
- Georgia Southern leads 4-3 in the all-time series, winning both weekend sets between the teams 2-1 in 2015 and 2016. The Red Wolves dealt the Eagles a loss in the 2015 Sun Belt Tournament to account for the other loss to ASU.
- The Georgia Southern offense in 2017 has been buoyed by the bats of three freshman who have announced their presence with authority.Â
Mason McWhorter is hitting .315 with four home runs.
Steven Curry is hitting .320 from the leadoff spot in the order.Â
Mitchell Golden is hitting .295 between shortstop and third base.
- In 2017 Georgia Southern has done well to hold on to their leads. The Eagles are 25-0 when leading after six innings, 24-0 when leading after seven and 27-0 when leading after eight. The Eagle bullpen has blown just one save this year, but came back to take that win in 11 innings.
- Six has been the magic number over the last four years for Georgia Southern Baseball with a 94-10 record when scoring six or more runs. The Eagles are 26-3 this season with six or more and haven't dropped a game when scoring six since March 18th in a 19-6 loss to South Alabama.
- After a late night return from Louisiana, Georgia Southern rose early on May 8th to celebrate the graduation of four Eagles.

Rodney Hennon has consistently reached the 30 win mark in his career, crossing the threshold 19 times in his 20 total seasons and 17 of 18 years at Georgia Southern. The Eagles have twice reached 42 overall wins in 2001 (42-20) and 2009 (42-17).
- For the third straight season, Georgia Southern Baseball has partnered with the Vs. Cancer Foundation to help fight childhood cancer. The Eagles raised more than $8,000 this season, culminating with members of the team shaving their heads on April 15th. Fans can still contribute by visiting https://team.vs-cancer.org/gs2017.
- The 2017 Sun Belt Tournament is coming to Statesboro starting on May 23, 2017. The new format features two play in games that pit the No. 7 and No. 10 seeds and the No. 8 and No. 9 seeds for the final spots in the field of eight.
COMING UP NEXT
After this weekend's home series, the Eagles will return to the Atlanta metro area for four games inside the perimeter. The Eagles face Georgia Tech on Tuesday night before facing Georgia State in a three-game series to close the regular season which starts on Thursday night.
