In the top of the first inning, ULM edged out to a 1-0 lead after a walk and pair of passed balls allowed a runner to score. All-Conference Second Team selection
Mekhia Freeman started off the bottom of the inning by knocking her third triple of the year to left field and putting the Eagles in scoring position. Robinson then stepped up and hit a sacrifice fly out to center field, scoring Freeman and tying up the score.
Georgia Southern took the lead in the bottom of the second when
Alesha Mann scored on a sacrifice fly, making the score 2-1. The Warhawks later responded by plating another run in the fourth to tie up the game.
The Eagles got into trouble in the top of the fifth when the ULMÂ plated another two runs off of a string of errors and a pair of hits. Georgia Southern cut the deficit by scoring another run off of a single from
Morgan Robinson in the bottom of the fifth, and the senior continued her hot day at the plate in the seventh by blasting a solo home run into the scoreboard in right field. The late rally wasn't enough for the Eagles, who fell to ULM with a final score of 5-4.Â
All-Conference Second Team selectionÂ
Dixie Raley (L, 13-20) pitched the first 6.2 innings for GS, striking out seven while only allowing one earned run. Junior
