STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern softball team defeated Coastal Carolina 9-1 on Sunday afternoon to complete the Sun Belt conference series sweep. GS was able to tack on another four runs in the sixth after Emily Snider hit an RBI triple to wall and Shelby Wilson ended the game with a single that implemented the run rule and ending the game in six innings.
Dixie Raley went the distance in the circle, only allowing two hits and striking out five. At the plate, Mekhia Freeman led the way offensively with two hits. Emily Snider, Morgan Robinson, Shelby Wilson and Macy Weeks each had one.
