Seth Shuman improved to 3-0 as a starting pitcher on March 22nd with five innings of two-hit shutout ball. He struck out a career-high six in the Eagles' 1-0 win. Recently, he earned his first collegiate save in the finale against App State, working a clean ninth with two Ks. The righty is the most experienced returning quarterback for the Eagles football team and was a 39th round pick by Baltimore in the 2016 draft. Eagle football opened spring practice on March 9th.
- The 2017 Sun Belt Tournament is coming to Statesboro starting on May 23, 2017. The new format features two play in games that pit the No. 7 and No. 10 seeds and the No. 8 and No. 9 seeds for the final spots in the field of eight.
