STATESBORO, Ga. – On Saturday afternoon, the Georgia Southern Track and Field team traveled to Columbia, South Carolina to compete in the Gamecock Invitational. The Eagles would take home multiple top-5 and top-10 finishes, while moving up the Sun Belt Conference standings.

Bailey Willett continued her success in the 800 meter event finishing sixth at the Gamecock Invitational. Willett continues to sit in third place in the Sun Belt standings after just nearly missing the time she posted at the UNF Spring Break Invitational of 2:12:12.
Ellunde Montgomery took home fifth in the 1500 meter event holding steady at 15
th in the conference.

During the 5000 meter event six Eagles cracked the top-20.

th),
Erin Mullican (11
th),
Chantelle Nicholls (15
th), and
Sakinah Omari (17
th) all placed in Columbia for the 5000 meter event.
Sholonda Snell jumped into the top-25 in the Sun Belt Standings following her 5
th place finish at the Gamecock Invitational. She is not alone in the standings as teammates
Ashton Lord, Kaitlin Rocker, and
Ellunde Montgomery are all representing the Blue and White in the Sun Belt Conference.

When Field events began, the Blue and White continued to move up the rankings not only at the Gamecock Invitational, but also in the Sun Belt Conference. Three Eagles cracked the top-20 on Saturday with
Diamond Reese (3
rd),
Jamelia Owens (8
th), and
Aundria Douglas (18
th). Reese moved into 12
th place in the conference after her third place finish in Columbia.
Kelsey Arnold moved into 12
th place in the conference after finishing seventh in Columbia.

The Eagles will have one final meet in Atlanta, Georgia to compete in the Georgia Tech Invite, before heading to Arlington, Texas for the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships.
