STATESBORO, GA. - The schedule moves up a day for Georgia Southern Baseball this week as Appalachian State comes to town for a three game series starting on Thursday night. The Eagles and Mountaineers kick off the three game set, which can be seen live on ESPN3, at 6:30 p.m. The Eagles have not lost to the Mountaineers since the teams both joined the Sun Belt Conference in 2014 and enter the series with the most wins of any Sun Belt team at 21-12.

Single game tickets are available at GSEagles.com/Tickets, giving fans the opportunity to beat the lines on gameday. Tickets can also be purchased at the J.I. Clements Stadium Box Office, located directly behind home plate at the stadium's main entrance.

- Georgia Southern welcomes rival Appalachian State to the new-look Jack Stallings Field at J.I. Clements Stadium this week for a three game holiday series against the Mountaineers. The set runs Thursday-Friday-Saturday.

- Georgia Southern topped Kennesaw State 8-4 on Tuesday night, earning 14 free bases from 10 walks and four hit batters. Anthony Paesano picked up his first win of the season, working an inning and a third on a staff day on the mound.
- The Eagles lead the all-time series with Appalachian State 45-18 and have seven straight wins over the Mountaineers. The Eagles are 6-0 against the Mountaineers in the Sun Belt era.
- The Georgia Southern offense in 2017 has been buoyed by the bats of three freshman who have announced their presence with authority.  Steven Curry leads the team with a .336 average from the leadoff spot in the order. Mitchell Golden is hitting .326 between shortstop and third base. Mason McWhorter is hitting .316 in 29 starts with eight doubles, and his first home run against College of Charleston.
- For the third-straight year, Georgia Southern Baseball has joined with the vs Cancer foundation to raise money to fight childhood cancer. Many members of the Eagle Baseball team will shave their heads following the Appalachian State as the team works to raise money for the foundation. - The 2017 Sun Belt Tournament is coming to Statesboro starting on May 23, 2017. The new format features two play in games that pit the No. 7 and No. 10 seeds and the No. 8 and No. 9 seeds for the final spots in the field of eight.

After playing the Thursday-Friday-Saturday series, Georgia Southern will have three days off before returning to the diamond at Savannah State on Wednesday, April 19th.
