STATESBORO, GA. - Georgia Southern Baseball dropped Saturday's second game of the ULM series, 5-4, on Jack Stallings Field at J.I. Clements Stadium. The Eagles held an early 2-0 lead, but five unanswered runs gave ULM an advantage in the middle innings. The Eagles got two in the seventh, and left two aboard in the ninth to drop the game. Georgia Southern and ULM close out the series on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.

"We've got to have a little more killer instinct. When you've get a two run lead, that's where you've got to lay the hammer down. We didn't pitch real well today, we gave away a couple of at bats after we got down, but give them credit, ULM played well. We've got to pick ourselves off the mat and bring some more energy than we did a few weeks ago when we were in the same situation. Hopefully we learned a lesson from that game against South Alabama and we can bring some energy tomorrow."

SCORING PLAYS
Bot 2nd - ULM 0 - GS 2 - C.J. Brazil and Logan Baldwin each tallied RBIs as the Eagles raced out to a 2-0 lead. Ryan Cleveland's single and Mason McWhorter's double jump started the frame that saw two runs off four hits.
Top 3rd - ULM 3 - GS 2 - A Johnny DeLaCruz double plated two runs, while a two out single gave the Warhawks a 3-2 lead.
Top 4th - ULM 4 - GS 2 - ULM extended the lead to 4-2 with a run off two hits in the fourth inning as the Warhawks chased starting pitcher Brian Eichhorn from the contest.
Top 5th - ULM 5 - GS 2 - The Warhawks got four singles off relief pitcher Evan Challenger to add another run and extend the lead to 5-2.
Bot 7th - ULM 5 - GS 4 - Back-to-back singles with one out in the seventh put the Eagles in business. Jordan Wren drove in one run, while Tyler Martin drove in another with a single to third base, cutting the lead to 5-4.

GAME NOTES
- Evan Challenger made his first relief appearance since May 25, 2013 on Saturday, taking over for Brian Eichhorn with two outs in the fourth.
- Steven Curry went 2-for-3 with a walk to extend his hit streak to 14-straight games. Jordan Wren, Tyler Martin and Mason McWhorter also had multi-hit games, tallying two hits each on Saturday night.
- Georgia Southern stranded 10 runners in the game including seven in the final four innings. It was the first time the Eagles had left double digit runners on base since the second game of the Elon series on March 10th.
- The Eagles were hit by four pitches on Saturday night with catcher C.J. Brazil earning a trip to first twice the painful way. That matches the season-high HBP total for the Eagles, tying the third game against Middle Tennessee on February 19th.
