STATESBORO, GA. - After dropping two of three at Memphis, Georgia Southern Baseball returns home for a pair of midweek games against Campbell. The Eagles face the Fighting Camels for the first time since 1990 and look to improve on their 11-0 all-time record over the team from Buies Creek, North Carolina. The games on Tuesday and Wednesday nights both start at 6 p.m.

- Georgia Southern faces Campbell for the first time since May 9, 1990 and leads the all time series by an 11-0 margin. The Eagles have scored in double digits in five of the 11 games.
- The Eagles gave up nine runs in the first inning to trail 9-1 after a 54 minute opening frame. Georgia Southern replied with seven unanswered runs to fall 9-8. After giving up eight hits in the first three innings, the Eagle bullpen stemmed the tide with 5.1 no-hit innings down the stretch.

Danny Reed and Frank Sulkowski will split broadcast duties for the series with Reed calling Tuesday's game and Sulkowski returning for Wednesday's contest, Both games are available on all Georgia Southern Sports Network affiliates.
- The Georgia Southern offense in 2017 has been buoyed by the bats of three freshman who have announced their presence with authority.
Mason McWhorter is hitting .500 in seven starts with three doubles.
Mitchell Golden is hitting .396 between shortstop and third base while
Steven Curry is hitting .341 at second base.

Seth Shuman picked up his first pitching victory with five innings of two-hit shutout ball against College of Charleston. The righty is the most experienced returning quarterback for the Eagles football team and was a 39th round pick by Baltimore in the 2016 draft.
- In the win over College of Charleston, the Eagles "broke" the new manual scoreboard by tallying 19 hits (two more than the scoreboard had numbers for), but the big number was six. The Eagles posted six runs in the first inning, batting around for the first time this season and recording their first runs in the opening frame this year.
- Two Eagles were selected to the All-Sun Belt Preseason Poll with
Ryan Cleveland and
Evan Challenger earning spots on the team.
- The Eagles were picked third in the new East Division of the Sun Belt Conference which features defending National Champion Coastal Carolina, NCAA Tournament entrant South Alabama, Georgia State, Appalachian State and Troy. The Eagles earned a first place vote in the poll of the league's coaches.
- The Road to Omaha for 2017 leads through Statesboro with the Sun Belt Championships coming to Jack Stallings Field at J.I. Clements Stadium in May. The league's top teams will decide the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament on the hallowed home of the Eagles.
