Eagles Drop Game Two of South Alabama Series

Georgia Southern faces South Alabama on Sunday at 1 p.m. in series finale

STATESBORO, GA. - Georgia Southern Baseball came out on the short end of a 19-6 line on Saturday night against South Alabama. The Eagles committed five errors, but 17 South Alabama hits did the bulk of the damage. The Eagles and Jaguars will decide the three game series with Sunday's series finale at 1 p.m. Watch the game on ESPN3 or listen on the Georgia Southern Sports Network.

- Tyler Martin drove in a run in the first inning, while Jordan Wren sent another across when he was hit by a pitch. The Eagles left the bases loaded in the opening frame as they took a 2-0 lead.
Top 2nd - USA 2 - GS 2 - The Jags squared up three hits in the second to scratch out two runs and tie the game at 2-2.
Top 4th - USA 11 - GS 2 - South Alabama plated nine runs off five hits with three Georgia Southern errors to blow the game open.
Top 5th - USA 13 - GS 2 - A two run Brendan Donovan home run added two runs to South Alabama's haul and extended the lead to 11 runs.
Top 6th - USA 15 - GS 2 - Two doubles in the sixth scored two more runs for the Jaguars.
Bot 6th - USA 15 - GS 3 - C.J. Brazil laced a single to center to score Georgia Southern's third run of the day and slice the lead to 15-3.
Top 7th - USA 16 - GS 3 - Wells Davis hit his third home run of the year in the seventh to extend the lead out to 13.
Bot 7th - USA 16 - GS 6 - Jordan Wren hit his first home run of the season and his second career bomb against South Alabama with a seventh inning, three-run job to centerfield.
Top 8th - USA 19 - GS 6 - The Jaguars strung together three hits with two outs to tag the Eagles for three more runs in the eighth, making the final line 19-6.

GAME NOTES
- Georgia Southern's five errors was a season high and the most since committing five last season against Texas State on April 2nd.
- Ryan Cleveland went 2-for-4 to extend his hit streak to 11-straight games.
- Jordan Wren went 2-for-3 a day after his six-game hit streak ended. He has reached base in seven straight games and set a new career high with four RBIs in the game.
