STATESBORO, Ga. – This past weekend the Eagles traveled to Chattanooga, Tennessee to face off against Tennessee Tech and Chattanooga. Both matches were held at the Champions Club at the University of Chattanooga. The indoor courts house all three teams the last few days. The Eagles would finish the weekend 1-1 and will return home to face Winthrop, UNC-Charlotte, and Coastal Georgia. Matches will start Saturday at 10 and conclude Sunday afternoon.
Â
"We concluded our indoor part of the season," said head coach
Sander Koning. "We are looking forward to playing at home the next couple of weeks."

TENNESSEE TECH – On Saturday, the Eagles faced off against Tennessee Tech. The Eagles would fall to the Golden Eagles 4-1, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. During doubles play the Golden Eagles would control the match and take the early lead 1-0.
Eddie Landin defeated Alberto Esteban 6-2, 6-3, improving to 5-2 in singles so far this season.
Â
"Our opponents came out with a lot of energy," said head coach
Sander Koning. "They had lost the day before and they used that as motivation against us. Our guys weren't ready for that in doubles. In singles, it was a good battle, but I have to give credit to Tennessee Tech they stepped up at the critical moments and embraced it more than we did. They are a dangerous team and we found it out the hard way."

CHATTANOOGA – On Sunday, the Eagles faced off against Chattanooga. The Eagles would defeat the Mocs 4-2, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. During doubles play the Eagles took the point behind Chris Kerrigan and
Diego Finkelstein defeated their opponents 6-3. This doubles victory was Chris Kerrigan's first match since returning from injury. The Eagles would use Kerrigan's momentum and defeat the Mocs on the road.
Â
"We came out with more energy," said head coach Koning. "My hat goes off to Chris, who came back from an injury and he jump started us as a team with their doubles win. In singles, it was a tight match. We took care of business on courts 4 and 6. Stefano and Diego played disciplined and we were able to finish off their match in two sets. JC was the one who clinched the match," added coach Koning. "He started to believe in himself more and more as the match went on. He survived 3 match points at 5-6 in the second set.
