KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Georgia Southern softball team wrapped up play on Sunday at the Citrus Classic, falling 7-0 to Fordham at ESPN's Wide World of Sports Complex. For the weekend, the Eagles picked up three wins and had a winning record for the event.

The Rams struck first, scoring a pair of unearned runs in the second inning to take the lead. That would be all Lauren Quense and Taylor Stocks would need as Quense improved to 8-1 on the season for Fordham. The Rams tacked on two more runs in the fourth inning and then put up three more in the sixth inning.

Dixie Raley picked up the tough-luck loss. She got the start, but had to be removed unexpectedly in the second inning with a runner on first. That runner would eventually score on the error to tag her with the loss. She went 1 1/3 innings, allowing one unearned run on two hits with two strikeouts and a walk. Heather Felt went 3 2/3 innings while Kaylee Ramos and Kierra Camp all saw action late in the game. 

Alesha Mann and India Davis both picked up a hit. Abby Broome drew a walk in the third inning.

The Eagles will return to action next weekend, hosting the Eagle Classic. Eastern Kentucky, Marshall, Delaware State, Presbyterian and South Carolina State will all come to town for the 14-game extravaganza at Eagle Field. Action begins on Friday at 9:30 a.m. with five games.
