STATESBORO, Ga. – The Georgia Southern men's tennis team had its seven match snapped by the Mercer Bears 5-2. The Eagles fell behind early, dropping the doubles point. During singles play the blue and white would get back into the match pulling to 3-2, following
Stefano Di Aloy and
Artemie Amari's victories. The guys will have eight days off before hosting Kennesaw State, Bethune-Cookman, and East Carolina.
Â
"I have to give credit to Mercer," said head coach
Sander Koning. "They came out and took it to us. They were playing to win and were willing to go for every ball. They showed a lot of discipline and that was the deciding factor. It is a tough loss, but we will regroup and get ourselves ready for 3 home matches."
