FULL RESULTS
STATESBORO, GA. – Georgia Southern Swimming & Diving took a whitewash 197.5-63.5 win over North Florida on Saturday in the 2016-17 home finale. Georgia Southern won all 16 events with 1-2 finishes in 12 of the 14 individual events. Kaylyn Thomas set new pool records in both the 100 Fly and 200 Fly.
Midway through the meet, Georgia Southern honored Anna Battistello, the lone competing senior on this year's team. A native of Holland, Michigan, Battistello is a three-time All-CCSA Academic honoree and has reached in the finals of all three CCSA Championship appearances.
"I was very proud of how our girls swam today," said Head Coach Laura Thomas. "We wanted to make it a special meet for our only senior, Anna Battistello, and I think we succeeded. Anna has been a great leader both in and out of the pool and we will miss her next season. I wish we could keep her here for a few more years, but the NCAA won't allow that!"
