STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern student-athletes participated in two Eagles in Transition events this week. Eagles in Transition is a program aimed to prepare student-athletes for life after school and athletics by giving them the opportunity to learn the skills necessary to excel in life.

On Tuesday, freshman student-athletes were invited to a seminar by Patrick Combs in the Nesmith Performing Arts Center. Combs is a career coach and best-selling author. Combs travels coast-to-coast teaching college students how to "Major in Success." The topic of this seminar focused on the significance of "unassigned homework." Combs examined the importance of planning ahead for a career and gave different examples of how to do so.

Sophomore and junior student-athletes were also given the opportunity to attend Resume Boot Camp in Williams Center Multi-Purpose room. This collaboration of Student-Athlete Services and Career Services was held on Wednesday. The workshop gave over 100 student-athletes the chance to have their resume critiqued by career center professionals.

Eagles in Transition will continue throughout the 2016-2017 school year.
