STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern volleyball coach
Dustin Wood announced today that Reilly Bosworth (Escondido, Calif./San Pasqual) and Ashley Dean (Marietta, Ga./Walton/Jacksonville) have joined the program and will compete for the Eagles in the 2016 season.
Reilly Bosworth, 6-1, Middle Blocker, Escondido, Calif./San Pasqual, Wave
Prep: Four-year letterwinner for coach Todd Goodwin at San Pasqual High School • Named San Diego County All-Star and all-league in 2015 • Captain and team MVP in 2014 and 2015 • Four-year starter • Played on Wave Volleyball Club for coach Juliana Evens.
Wood on Bosworth: "Reilly is a great addition to our program at Georgia Southern. We noticed her very late in the recruiting process, and things just fit into place quickly. She comes from Wave Volleyball Club out of San Diego, which is a great club with great people associated with Reilly. She works extremely hard in the middle, makes herself available in transition and runs the slide very well. Her passion for the game and her leadership qualities are second to none. Her family has ties to Georgia, and Georgia Southern is a great fit her. We are looking forward to see what she can do for our program."

Before Georgia Southern: Began her collegiate career at Jacksonville University, but did not see any game action • Will be a sophomore in eligibility • Attended Walton High School in Marietta, Ga • Three-year starter for coach Suzanne Fitzgerald • Team captain of 33-6 team in her senior season • GVCA Senior All-Star and all-state in 2014 • All-area in 2013 and 2014 • Had 249 digs and 96 service aces in 247 sets in her prep career • Helped team to four consecutive state championships for 7A Area 4 • Played for A5 club team and coaches Bob Westbrook and Jing Hou.
Wood on Dean: "We are delighted to have Ashley join our program. She is a transfer from Jacksonville University, who is from Atlanta and happy to be closer to home. Many of our players have played with her in club, and she fits well into our Georgia Southern program. She works extremely hard, passes well and will be in competition with the defensive specialists to see court time this season. Her experience will help her out on the court and in the locker room, and we are excited to see what she is capable of doing on the floor."
