Teams wrap up series on Saturday with doubleheader
DECATUR, Ga. – The Georgia State softball team used a six-run second inning to down Georgia Southern 8-0 in six innings Friday evening at Bob Heck Field in the first game of a three-game Sun Belt Conference series.
After a scoreless first inning, the Panthers broke loose with six runs on four hits in the bottom of the second. A pair of two-run hits busted the game open and forced a pitching change. Heather Felt then came on and kept the Panther bats at bay for two innings before GSU scored a run in the fifth inning and another in the sixth.
Emily Snider singled up the middle in the fourth inning to break up the no-hitter while Lydia Witkowski, Haley Carter, Morgan Robinson and A.J. Hamilton drew walks in the game.
