STATESBORO, GA.
– After a weekend in the Lone Star State, Georgia Southern Baseball returns to the friendly confines this weekend for a three-game Sun Belt Conference series against Little Rock. Friday's series opener is Faculty/Staff Appreciation night with free admission for Georgia Southern faculty and staff. Saturday's game is Superhero Day with fans encouraged to wear costumes for the contest. First pitch on both nights is 7 p.m.

QUICK HITS
• Georgia Southern faces Little Rock for the first time as Sun Belt foes at J.I. Clements Stadium this weekend. The Eagles are 11-4 all-time against the Trojans and swept the three-game series over Little Rock.
• Georgia Southern ranks fourth nationally in sacrifice bunts with 48 this season. CJ Brazil ranks fifth with 12 while Evan McDonald is seventh with 11. CJ Ballard ranks 68th in the nation with seven bunts.
• Georgia Southern's pitching staff is one of the best in the league, ranking first in hits allowed (6.77) and third in the nation. The Eagles are 12th in WHIP with a 1.16 rating.
• Georgia Southern is sixth in the Sun Belt Standings with the second half of league play underway. The Eagles are 9-9 on the year, trailing Troy by a game and Texas State by a game and a half.
• For Georgia Southern, the magic number is six. The Eagles are 16-1 this season when scoring six or more runs. Over the past five season the Eagles are a combined 108-18 including 31 wins in 2014.


EAGLES SWEEP CHARLESTON TEAMS
• After going 0-4 against College of Charleston and The Citadel in 2015, Georgia Southern turned that around in 2016, winning all four games over teams from the Holy City.
• The Eagles hit .359 in those four games while holding opponents to a .188 mark. Ryan Cleveland hit .479 in that span with three doubles, two home runs and eight RBIs.
• The April 5th win over the Cougars was notable because the College of Charleston had moved to 24th in the D1Baseball.com poll.


IN THE CLASSROOM
• The Georgia Southern baseball team posted a 3.25 GPA in the fall semester, its highest semester GPA in program history.
• 28 of the Eagles were on the honor roll with 12 on the Dean's List and 3 on the President's List.


EAGLES PARTNER WITH VS. CANCER FOUNDATION
• Georgia Southern hosted its second Vs. Cancer Day on April 3rd, raising funds and awareness for the Vs. Cancer Foundation to help combat children's cancer.
• The Eagles surpassed their goal of raising $8,000 for the foundation by gathering more than $11,000.

COMING UP NEXT
Following this weekend's series against Little Rock, Georgia Southern heads out on the road for eight-straight games away from home. The run of eight road games starts on Tuesday night, April 26, at Kennesaw State. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
