STATESBORO, GA.
– After a truncated series victory over UT Arlington, Georgia Southern baseball will face a familiar foe this week with two games against The Citadel. The Eagles face the Bulldogs on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. on ESPN3 at J.I. Clements Stadium in Statesboro before traveling to Riley Park in Charleston on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. game.

QUICK HITS
• Two former Southern Conference rivals renew their series this week with a pair of games in Statesboro and Charleston. The Eagles lead the all-time series 46-40, but dropped both games in 2015.
• Georgia Southern ranks fourth nationally in sacrifice bunts with 45 this season. CJ Brazil ranks fourth with 12 while Evan McDonald is seventh with 11. CJ Ballard ranks 62nd in the nation with seven bunts.
• Georgia Southern's pitching staff is one of the best in the league, ranking first in hits allowed (6.89) and fifth in the nation. The Eagles are 14th in WHIP with a 1.18 rating.
• Georgia Southern is sixth in the Sun Belt Standings with the second half of league play underway. The Eagles are 9-9 on the year, trailing Troy by a game and Texas State by a game and a half.
• For Georgia Southern, the magic number is six. The Eagles are 14-1 this season when scoring six or more runs. Over the past five season the Eagles are a combined 106-18 including 31 wins in 2014.

EAGLES RALLY FOR SERIES WIN AT UT ARLINGTON
• Georgia Southern rallied from being blanked in the series opener against UT Arlington to ultimately win the series with a doubleheader sweep over the Mavericks.
Chase Cohen recorded the Eagles first complete game shutout since Sam Howard's NCAA Tournament gem against Florida State in May 2014. Cohen blanked the Mavericks, holding UTA to just two hits in the second game of the series.
Ryan Cleveland hit two home runs in Georgia Southern's 6-0 win over UT Arlington, snapping a run of seven-straight games without a home run for the Eagles.
• The Eagles closed off the series with a 10-6 win over UTA, rallying from a 5-0 deficit to win. The Eagles tied the game twice in the seventh and eighth before ultimately winning the game with four in the ninth. Three home runs, including Hunter Thomas and CJ Brazil's third of the year plus Jordan Wren's first Division I bomb secured the win.

EAGLES PARTNER WITH VS. CANCER FOUNDATION
• Georgia Southern hosted its second Vs. Cancer Day on April 3rd, raising funds and awareness for the Vs. Cancer Foundation to help combat children's cancer.
• The Eagles surpassed their goal of raising $8,000 for the foundation by gathering more than $11,000.

IN THE CLASSROOM
• The Georgia Southern baseball team posted a 3.25 GPA in the fall semester, its highest semester GPA in program history.
• 28 of the Eagles were on the honor roll with 12 on the Dean's List and 3 on the President's List.

COMING UP NEXT
This weekend the Eagles are back at home for three games against Little Rock. The Trojans come to Statesboro for the first time since March 1982. The series starts at 7 p.m. on Friday night with Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night. Saturday Night's game is Superheroes Day with fans encouraged to dress as their favorite superhero.
